Terms of Service

The rules for using Kalkulo Play — who it is for, what the licence covers, how subscriptions work, and the law that governs them.

1Eligibility & Parental Oversight

Welcome to Kalkulo Play (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using our mobile application or website located at kalkuloplay.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the application or website.

  • Target audience: Kalkulo Play is designed for educational use by children aged 5–11 under the guidance and authorisation of a parent, legal guardian, or educator.
  • Parental responsibility: any setup, subscription purchase, or profile configuration must be completed by an adult. All administrative and billing controls are secured behind an Adult Parental Gate.

2License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Kalkulo Play for personal, non-commercial, or standard educational classroom purposes in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application.
  • Exploit the software for commercial redistribution or unauthorised resale.
  • Circumvent or tamper with local security mechanisms, including the Adult Parental Gate.

3Community Conduct & Nickname Policy

  • Public leaderboards: leaderboards use sanitised 3-part nicknames to protect user privacy.
  • Prohibited behaviour: users are strictly prohibited from using offensive language, profanity, hate speech, or attempts to expose personal contact information in public handles.

We reserve the right to remove any inappropriate nickname or score record immediately and without notice.

4Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

  • Billing: payments and subscriptions, such as Kalkulo Play Premium, are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Management & refunds: you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time within your device’s Apple or Google account settings. All refunds are handled under the respective store platform policies.

5Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in Kalkulo Play — including mathematical modules, mascot characters, game mechanics, illustrations, sound design, logos, and trademarks — are the exclusive property of Kalkulo Play and its creators.

6Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

  • “As is” basis: the application and website are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
  • Liability limit: to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including Quebec and Canadian consumer protection statutes, Kalkulo Play shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service.

7Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
